Who are school-based speech-language pathologists (SLP)?
We are members of the educational support team who work with students to help them improve their communication skills. We promote and support students’ academic and social success.
What do SLPs do?
We help students to:
- speak with clarity
- expand vocabulary
- increase academic success
- improve interpersonal communication skills
- communicate with confidence
We help students with:
- Speech sound disorders (articulation)
- Fluency (stuttering)
- Voice
- Vocabulary
- Receptive language (understanding language)
- Expressive language (state knowledge and opinions)
- Pragmatic Language (using language in social situations)
